Business Office Services

Business Office Functions
• Coordinate patient registration, patient insurance, billing and collections and data processing to ensure accurate patient billing and efficient account collection.
• Process all claims and coordinate billing process to fully resolve all accounts in a timely manner.

• Monitor quality and report performance to practice regularly.
• Provide all staffing required.
• Maintain all master files for the practice's selected practice management
system application.
• Post all patient and insurance payments to proper account and deposit all funds into practice designated bank account.
• Coordinate all service and support for computer related issues.
• Comply with established policies and procedures including government regulations (primarily Fraud & Abuse and HIPAA), insurance carriers and
third-party payer regulations.

Coding and compliance services include the following:
• Benchmarking comparing each physician's performance with the national bell curve per specialty.
• Compile the evaluations for physicians' compliance within the practice and provide training recommendations, system adjustments and process changes.
• Provide education and training specific to the practice -on site for physicians, practice staff and billing employees - premised on the belief that education and training are the primary tools for improving performance.
• Onboard new physicians with personalized instruction aimed at avoiding
coding and compliance errors.
• Specialized assessments focused on improving performance in a particular area or on a problem identified during an overall review are available. Specialized assessments may be performed for individual practitioners or a category of service.

Coding Services
• Inpatient Abstract Coding (Coding (CPT and ICD9) all E/M and bedside procedures from the hospital medical record).
• Surgical and Evaluation and Management coding.
• Review samples of coded services on a daily basis for accuracy and completeness.
• Ensure documentation is consistent with billing.
• Develop new coding policies, procedures, and charge tickets and oversees coding reviews with physicians.
• Monitor reimbursement of selected procedures on a continuous basis and identify change in reimbursement patterns.

Financial Services
HealthLink's financial services provides a complete array of internal accounting components that bring efficiency and effectiveness to the financial transactions of medical practices. The staff of HealthLink's financial services offers decades of combined experience in helping business prepare, execute and analyze their financial transactions. Our service is performed within a secure, high-tech environment that is always kept up to date, allowing for fast, accurate, and cost-effective processing and reporting of business operations.

The main components of HealthLink's financial services are:
Cash Management - Controlling bank balances through deposits, withdrawals, transfers; interface with bank officials; reporting and analysis.
Accounts Payable Management - Scheduling, monitoring, and processing invoices for payment of operational expenses; maintain vendor relationships; reporting and analysis.
Payroll Management - Input and output management of automated third party service; interface with practice managers or supervisors; reporting and analysis.
General Ledger Management - Maintain chart of accounts to classify and verify financial transactions; reporting and analysis.
Budget Management - Prepare, produce, and verify annual and monthly budget information; combining previous, current, and projected transaction activity; reporting and analysis.
Periodic Financial Statements - Prepare, produce, and analyze annual and monthly balance sheet, income statement, statement of cash flow, and related supporting documentation.
Interfacing with Corporate Accountant - Maintain close and current communication with corporate accountant; respond to inquiries and requests for information; execute requested journal entries.
